Post-operative care
Post-operative therapy of orthopaedic conditions is highly scripted, work intensive and repetitive. It requires a lot of patience and persistence from both caregiver and patient. I work closely with the patient’s surgeon so that the patient’s unique surgical repair is both protected and progressed in an appropriate manner. My post-op approaches to care are main stream and aligned with traditional methods of musculoskeletal therapy.
- Common post-operative cases requiring therapy that I see in-office:
- Micro surgery (discectomy) of the spine
- Spinal fusion
- Shoulder labrum repair
- Rotator cuff repair
- Ulnar collateral ligament repair (elbow)
- ACL repair/meniscus repair (knee)
- Hip labrum repair
- Hip (Femoral acetabular) impingement repair
